Check IMEI number or IMEI code of a mobile / cell phone:

International Mobile Equipment Identity or IMEI code is a unique number assigned to every mobile and cell phone. Also it is assigned to some of satellite phones. You can find it printed on backside of your cell phone by opening the battery cover.

The IMEI check can also be performed by typing *#06# followed by calling button and the IMEI number will be displayed on the mobile phone screen. At the time of purchasing a cell phone most of the vendors do mention the IMEI number on the bill.

If your mobile phone is stolen and someone has replaced your SIM with his/her SIM, you can contact your Network provider and they can track that who is using your cellphone now. But most of the cases it never happens as there are many network providers in the country and there is no arrangement between them.
